This short film is adapted from his one-act play by the same name. In it, Chas Potter, a small-town New Hampshire voter, for decades has written no-holds-barred letters to his senator in Washington, D.C. The content of his missives may be more profane than profound but there’s no mistaking the constituent’s patriotic concern, culminating in an uproarious confrontation when the senator has finally had enough and comes calling. The story is more timely than ever. And even funnier. And it’s crazy funny. And unexpectedly moving. And even reassuringly optimistic, proving that authentic human connection can still trump our political differences. Well, maybe not trump, but at least can serve as an invitation to cross the mythical bridge and reassure us that we have more in common than we realize.

The film’s stellar cast includes Ernest Thompson, Gordon Clapp, and Lisa Bostnar, each bringing a wealth of experience and accolades. Ernest Thompson, the film’s writer-director and co-star, is best known for his Academy Award-winning screenplay *On Golden Pond* (1981), which earned him an Oscar and a Golden Globe, and his extensive career spans theatre, film, and television, including directing and acting in numerous acclaimed projects.

Gordon Clapp, an Emmy winner for his role as Detective Greg Medavoy on *NYPD Blue* (1994), has also garnered critical praise for his stage work, including a Drama Desk nomination for his performance in *Glengarry Glen Ross*.

Lisa Bostnar, a versatile & critically acclaimed actress of stage and screen, including TV shows Law & Order, Pan Am, Blindspot, and the Blacklist. The New York Times says of her performance in the play Far and Wide, “Delivers a star turn.”

Their combined talents make *The Constituent* a must-see, with this event offering a unique opportunity to engage with these celebrated artists.
